A Bodywise Story

My journey began in my early teens when I started experiencing myriad physical and emotional challenges, including body pain, tingling sensations, numbness, headaches, irritability, hormonal imbalances, menstrual pain, insomnia and difficulty concentrating. After an extensive search for answers, my path led me to the world of bodywork, igniting a 35-year journey of profound learning and self-discovery.

My exploration started with chiropractic-osteopathy and nutritional medicine, which provided valuable insights into wellbeing. As I delved deeper into this journey, I discovered the importance of breathwork, posture, self-awareness, mindfulness, meditation, the transformative potential of movement and dance, and the fundamental essence of energy within us.

This quest for knowledge and healing prompted me to embark on a rigorous five-year health science degree in chiropractic. Along the way, I pursued postgraduate studies in movement and dance, delved into the wisdom of the Alexander Technique, dedicated years to yoga, Pilates, and Feldenkrais practices, and immersed myself in Body Mind Centering and conscious dance.

The practices of mindfulness MBSR, breathwork, and Focusing became integral components of my life, providing continuous support to my nervous system. This amalgamation of experiences and insights eventually evolved into a unique mind-body practice I now call 'Bodywise Somatics'. It has become my life's work and a source of profound transformation, helping individuals reconnect with their bodies, heal, and flourish in their own unique ways.
